Camping Pods UK was established by Peter Ratcliffe in April 2009. Peter’s passion for The Pod, combined with his belief in the ethos of this project led to the formation of the company. Based in Kendal, in the South Lakes, Camping Pods UK exclusively offers clients the option of renting their Pods, thus saving on capital outlay. The Pods creator Ian Bone, has created a new space in 21st century camping. His experience of building quality lodges, combined with his love for the great outdoors gave birth to The Pod. The Pod has proved a great success, especially in our heart land, the Lake District, where the pods are designed, manufactured and have gained the approval of planners in the National Parks.
The pod has aesthetically pleasing curve appeal. Crafted by a highly skilled team, The Pod is built on a framework of treated softwood, with the front and rear walls insulated with natural sheep’s wool. The treated roof battens provide the strength upon which the weather proof, noise reducing galvanised steel tiles lie. The granular finish blends the pod into its surroundings.
